During the second world war all wagons on the North Australia Railway were renumbered starting at 1. This was brought about by the excessive number of wagons begin used from other system, unfortunately the numbering of wagons on the North Australia Railway did not take into account the fact that some of the new numbers allocated were already being used by wagons on the C.A.R.. Thus when wagons were transferred from the North Australia Railway to C.A.R., frequently they were issued with new numbers. No record of the original wagon number seems to have been retained.
