First class sleeping car of wooden construction, built by the Commonwealth Railways at their Port Augusta Workshops.

28.4.1920Entered service as "AR 33".
11.12.1953Fitted with air conditioning and overhauled.
10.12.1959Amplifying system installed.
17.8.1961New blinds installed, repainted etc.
7.8.1964Repairs to interior seats, new canvas roof, revarnish and repaint.
27.8.1965Repairs to roof and windows.
10.3.1966Place on narrow gauge german type SKF bogies, converted to "NAR", coded "NAR".
22.7.1966Recoded "NARC".
29.10.1968Renew roof canvas, window blinds and exterior panels, renew air ducting in roof.
9.9.1970Repaint and repairs to external mouldings.
22.8.1974Renew side panelling and sheeting, repair leaking roof.
24.9.1977Overhaul, renew compartment panels, water service exterior repairs and paint.
12.1980On last Ghan.
8.4.1982Converted to standard gauge and reclass "ARC", german bogies fitted. External and interior repair.
13.1.1983Recoded "AR", as "ARC" classification was incorrect. Allocated to M.E. breakdown train Alice Springs.
11.7.1990Stored at Port Pirie.
9.1995Offered to Port Dock Station Railway Museum.

First class sleeping car of wooden construction, built by the Commonwealth Railways at their Port Augusta Workshops.

28.4.1920Entered service as "AR 34".
-Place on Westwaggon Minden-Deutz bogies.
21.6.1980Written off and purchased by Steamtown Peterborough, who renamed it "Belalie" and coded "NARC".
14.2.1981Placed on narrow gauge.
3.4.1981Painted chocolate and cream.
18.4.1981On inaugural Steamtown Peterborough train.

AR/ARG 47 -- NARG 47

First class sleeping car of wooden construction, built by the Commonwealth Railways at their Port Augusta Workshops.

6.7.1922Entered service as "AR 47".
14.11.1956Converted to air conditioned staggered corridor roomette "ARG" sleeping car.
14.4.1961To narrow gauge "NARG".
10.1.1967Major interior overhaul.
12.1980On last Ghan.
22.5.1982Written off.
13.4.1983Delivered to Steamtown Peterborough, to be used for members accomodation.

AR 50 -- NARC 50 -- Bruce

First class sleeping car of wooden construction, built by the Commonwealth Railways at their Port Augusta Workshops.

15.8.1928Entered service as "AR 50".
9.12.1978Written off and purchased by Steamtown Peterborough, who renamed it "Bruce" and coded "NARC".
1981Placed on narrow gauge.
3.1981Painted Chocolate and cream.
18.4.1981On inaugural Steamtown Peterborough train.
1987In service with Steamtown Peterborough.
2010Moved to "Menindee Central School" for use in a train carriage motel project. [Sydney Morning herald 12.6.2010]
